Storage
Prior to use, the shelf-life of 5 mg, 10 mg and 15 mg Norditropin® hGH cartridges is 2 years stored at 2–8°C/35–48°F.
Once in use, 5 mg and 10 mg Norditropin® hGH cartridges keep safely at up to 25°C/77°F for 3 weeks.*6 Once in use, 15 mg Norditropin® hGH cartridges keep safely at 2–8°C/35–48°F for 4 weeks.
Protect from direct sunlight and do not freeze.
Precautions
The NordiPen® device can only be used with Norditropin® liquid hGH cartridges.
Norditropin® hGH cartridges come in 3 strengths: 5 mg, 10 mg, and 15 mg. Each type of cartridge has a specific coloured band on its label – yellow for 5 mg, blue for 10 mg, and green for 15 mg. When the cartridge is loaded into the NordiPen® device, the coloured band is visible through a window in the cartridge holder. Before each injection, make sure that you are using the right type of growth hormone cartridge.
Do not use the residual scale on the cartridge to measure the amount of growth hormone to be injected. Always use the dose indicator window at the back of your NordiPen® device.
Never use Norditropin® hGH cartridges after the expiration date printed on the package.
The NordiPen® device, Norditropin® hGH cartridges, and the NovoFine® needles should be kept out of the reach of children. However, once children are old enough, they may be allowed to inject themselves, under proper parental supervision.
Your NordiPen® device should be used by one person only.
Only use your NordiPen® device if you are sure that it is working properly.
Bioequivalence
Norditropin® hGH cartridges contain liquid Norditropin® somatropin, which is the active ingredient, and which is bioequivalent to freeze-dried Norditropin® somatropin.2,7,8,11
All claims regarding the efficacy and safety of Norditropin® somatropin are thus applicable for the use of Norditropin® liquid hGH cartridges. In addition, all indications currently approved for Norditropin® somatropin are applicable.
