Our introduction programme
We think that it is very important for you to get your life-changing career off to a good start. Therefore, we take the time to integrate you into the team so that you feel welcome at Novo Nordisk from your very first day.

Our introduction programme is divided into several phases. Firstly, there is an induction process that is the same for all new employees. This provides you with your first insight into Novo Nordisk and informs you of our history, vision, values, organisation, therapy areas and products.

Secondly, we offer a one-day introduction course where you learn more about our products and our principles for good business practice. At this event, you will have plenty of opportunities to meet our group directors and to ask them questions.

Around six months after you join Novo Nordisk, you will take part in a meeting with one or more people suffering from diabetes. The event is called ‘Meet your customer’. We think that it is important for you to have a personal meeting with some of the people who depend on Novo Nordisk’s products.

On top of this, each department typically has its own tailor-made programme for new employees.

Management development programme
If you have ambitions of becoming a department manager at Novo Nordisk, the ‘New Managers Programme’ will help you on your way from the very start.

We do not believe in a ‘sink or swim’ approach to management, so this programme will set supported goals that ease the transition from functional expert to team leader. Delegates work on-the-job projects and use tools from the programme to enhance their leadership effectiveness and create business results.

Against the backdrop of our leadership philosophy, - the Novo Nordisk Way of Management - participants develop a rounded view of their new role and acquire competences within coaching, constructive feedback and appraisals, delegation, situational leadership and building winning teams.

The Greenhouse programme
The purpose of the Greenhouse programme is to accelerate the development of managers – with one to two years of leadership or project management experience – who have demonstrated high performance and a readiness to take on new management challenges. The programme helps clarify participants’ strengths and needs, and facilitates their transition to the next leadership challenge.

The Lighthouse programme
The Lighthouse programme aims to provide challenging and unique development opportunities for experienced vice presidents and general managers who have demonstrated high performance and leadership potential. Each Lighthouse programme includes a journey intended to promote personal and career growth through practical and emotional experiences.
