How should I store GlucaGen® HypoKit?
GlucaGen® HypoKit should be stored either 2-3 years (depending on country) at 2oC to 8oC. Avoid freezing to prevent damage to the syringe. The glucagon vial should be protected from light. GlucaGen® HypoKit can be stored at room temperature (up to 25oC) for 18 months provided that the expiry date is not exceeded. Reconstituted glucagon should be used immediately after preparation. Do not store for later use.
How should my family, friends, and co-workers act in severe hypoglycaemia?
Act quickly. Prolonged unconsciousness may be harmful and lead to brain damage and even death. Turn patient on his/her side to prevent patient from choking. Prepare glucagon for injection when you are ready according to manual.
How sure am I of possible problems with glucagon injection?
Severe side effects are very rare, although nausea and vomiting may occur occasionally. No evidence of toxicity has been reported. If your experience any other reactions which is likely to have been caused by glucagon, please contact your doctor.
