Do you have a recent master degree, and do you want a successful career in one of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies? If yes, then the Novo Nordisk Graduate Programme is what you are looking for. We call it Base Camp, it’s the first important step on your career journey. It’s a platform for steep career climbing and a unique opportunity to bring your master degree to life in a global environment. Base Camp covers 10 individual programmes within Product Supply, Finance & Business IT, Business Management & Marketing, and R&D. Each programme has a duration of two years and is designed to fast-track your career in Novo Nordisk. As a key person. As a trusted specialist. Or as a future leader.
Experience, development and passion
The Graduate Programmes consist of equal parts professional and personal development. From the very beginning you will be assigned a personal mentor who will guide your expedition and support your overall development throughout the programme. Through 3-4 job rotations, you will gather international experience, be exposed to various types of managements and start building a strong network of ambitious, professional and dedicated colleagues. No matter where in the organisation you find yourself, you will be among passionate colleagues who live by our values and our work ethics with respect for society.
We are looking for talented, young graduates who aim to reach the top. But that is not all. We believe the results in Novo Nordisk come from dedicated employees who understand the value of working together and sharing knowledge, across geographical borders and professional disciplines. This takes a strong personal drive, willingness to collaborate and the ability to adapt several times in a fast-changing business landscape.

Succesful company
Did you know that Novo Nordisk is the world leader in diabetes care?
We have experienced significant growth in recent years. Novo Nordisk sales totalled DKK 66,346 million (EUR 8,9 million) in 2011. Diabetes care accounts for approx. 75% of our sales.
In the biopharmaceuticals business sector, we have a leading position within the therapeutic areas of haemostasis management, growth hormone therapy and hormone replacement therapy.
Novo Nordisk has more than 32,000 employees in 74 countries and we market our products in 179 countries. This growth is expected to continue in the future so that by 2018 we will employ around 45,000 people.
“When I graduated in 2009 the financial world was crashing around me and the US job market was less than ideal. My MBA trained me to be international, so I wanted global experience. Novo Nordisk was a company that was financially secure and growing and the Base Camp programme offered me the opportunity to work in Denmark and another country. It was a perfect fit for someone like me seeking global experience,” says Christopher Hedquist.
Making a difference
Every 10 seconds, somewhere in the world, two people develop diabetes and one person dies from diabetes-related complications.
This makes diabetes one of the leading causes of death across the globe. The disease currently affects 250 million people worldwide and this number is expected to grow to 380 million by 2025.
Novo Nordisk is committed to providing treatment for people with diabetes and invests in research to not only find better treatment solutions but also to ultimately find a cure for diabetes.

“I first really got to know about Novo Nordisk by attending a dinner at my university hosted by Novo Nordisk. I remember being impressed with the way employees spoke with such evident pride about what they did and who they worked for. Now, after joining Base Camp, I can honestly say I am experiencing the same sense of pride. We actually do live by our company vision and values. We do make a difference to society. And now I 'burn' to work for Novo Nordisk,” explains Jimi Kehlet Frederiksen.
